Quick walk in the woods on Cougar Mountain Sunday morning. Made a loop starting from the Redtown Trailhead taking Wildside, Marshall's Hill, De Leo Wall, Indian Trail, Quarry Trail, Coal Creek Falls and back around on Cave Hole. The trails are in great shape - the whole area is very dry. Coal Creek Falls is barely damp. Even though it was pretty hazy and couldn't see Mt. Rainier at all, the views off De Leo were still very nice.

Hiked the Coal Creek Falls for a light hike with my 10 month old son. It was his first hike and so wanted to keep it light. First part of the hike up until you hit the junction for coal creek falls is lightly steep gaining most elevation. Its mixed up and down after that. The ending at the bridge is very picturesque overlooking the falls. The falls is pretty much dried out to a trickle. However, my son had fun splashing in it and overall good experience. Saw lots of other folks coming along with families. Nice hike overall and good with children.

Beautiful day - covered several interlocking trails - small paper maps are available at trailhead. Just a few people out - saw a large doe across a ravine, either a squirrel or marmot, and some very large slugs. Falls almost dry, but lovely

Trickle falls, more like a semi-vertical creek.
