This hike is actually in Oregon but just on the other side of Bridge of the Gods which makes it easy to get to from the Washington side. We hiked all the way to Twister Falls 13.5 miles in 6hrs (with stops.) Twister Falls is worth the extra steps to see and has a few good spots for sitting. Tunnel Falls is just down right amazing. The trail has a gradual incline and fairly easy. There are a few creek crossings and some narrow spots with steep cliffs which makes this long journey exciting. I would highly recommend going on a weekday and not a weekend as I have no doubt this would be a crowded trail on a weekend.

It's funny this hike is on WTA since it's in Oregon. Maybe it crosses the boundary line into WA and that's why? Anyways, my trail sister and I took Eagle Creek to Tunnel Falls, and then just past it to Twister Falls. 13.5mi round trip; 6 hour hike (including stops). Great hike. The elevation gain is so gradual that you don't realize it at all. It's probably the easiest hike we've done for that reason. There were some sketchy, cliff side parts that made me nervous, but there are cable holds for someone like me who doesn't like heights. It was well worth it. Side note: there was an abandoned tent and sleeping bag at around the 5mi mark. Kinda weird, and the second hike in a row where I've seen abandoned camp items like that. How does that happen?

Got to the parking lot for the trail around 10am and it was full and so we ended up parking at the overpass viewing area parking adding over 1/2 a mile to the start of the trail. The first few miles of the trail were equally packed but once we got past punch bowl falls the foot traffic calmed down a lot. From there the rest of the trail was perfect only running into a few other hiking groups between punch bowl and tunnel falls. The bridge is still out but the creek is easy to cross. Loved this hike but wouldn't recommend for hiking with smaller children thanks to all the many sharp drop ledges.

Cut a 3 day planned loop trip down to an overnight due to high water levels and reported snow above 3000 ft. Absolutely GREAT hike, though! Stayed at 7 1/2 mile camp, trail is very muddy with numerous fords after 6 miles or so. There is a bridge out at Tenas Creek, easy to ford... other fords that are not bridged were more sketchy. My son managed to cross each on logs and rocks, I waded with some slipping. There were a couple of downed trees that required crawling under through mud. The campsites are in good condition. We hiked on day two past the trail split to Methow (sp?) lake, but stopped at a crossing that seemed a bit treacherous - did not get far enough to report on the "big" ford across Eagle Creek. Hiked back to Wy East camps, had lunch and contemplated the weather, and decided to just call it a good trip and hike out! Take your Parks Pass or Forest Pass, we forgot and had to pay... Also recommended to park by the visitor center for overnight stays, so that's what we did. I would definitely recommend this as a day hike to Tunnel falls, perhaps on to Twister Falls as well - read the trail description though, the trail is on a steep drop off and not for the very wary!

The warm wet weather this weekend convinced me that a waterfall hike in the Columbia River Gorge was in order. I met a few friends to hike the Eagle Creek trail up to Twister Falls in what turned out to be fairly dry weather, though the trail was dripping and often muddy. The parking lot was full (100+ cars) when I got there at 11 am and pretty much empty returning at 5 pm after about a 14 mile hike. The bridge crossing Tisch Creek, (just beyond the Punchbowl falls overlook) is out but crossing the creek on rocks and logs wasn't an issue.
