Currently, no NW pass required. Bathrooms are locked. Arrived at 8:30 am with plenty of parking on a sunny day. Took about 50 minutes up and 40 minutes down. Only saw a handful of people - great hike for quick beautiful views and family-friendly too.

First the drive to the trailhead is almost all paved except for a 2 small sections of loose gravel. The drive there is beautiful. We got to the trailhead around 7:30am. No one else was there except for a crew helping maintain the trail. It is a very well maintained trail. It seems like the ending might have gotten washed out as we made it to the top with .8 miles on our Garmin watches. But the lookout from that spot was fantastic. This is a good hike for the family. When we were about to leave the trailhead we SAW A BLACK BEAR across the river. Keep our eyes open!

Mask up, folks!
Excellent short trail with a super view.
I drove a sedan, so I followed previous reviewers' suggestions and parked at the big lot at Middle Fork Trailhead. It's a 9-min walk to Garfield Ledges Trailhead. The walk is along the road, but overall safe because there were few cars. There were lots of potholes by the bridge across Taylor River, some indeed as wide as the road. I don't recommend sedans to go across this bridge.
I met 10 people on the trail, half wore masks as we passed. The trail was wide and very well maintained.
The view on top was amazing. The platform was big enough to fit several groups, with social distancing in mind.
