Gorgeous fall walk around the lake. A little frosty and slick on some of the boardwalks and bridges.

This is a one mile hike around the pond which is ADA Accessible. A very nice place to bring family for a picnic or just some great views of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness in the background. The trail is a blacktop trail with some wooden bridges and boardwalks but still very level so a wheelchair can get all the way around without a problem. Fall colors were an added treat. Checkout the video of this hike or over 400 other hikes I have done in Washington State on my VIMEO channel. As always get out and see this beautiful state and enjoy your hiking.

Take Care

Easy walk with beautiful fall foliage - a very short walk (3 min) to gold creek pond with nice views of mountains in the backdrop. Alternates between pavement, boardwalk, and packed dirt. Today was rainy, but scenic and quite pretty nonetheless, with only a couple other hikers. This seems like a trail that would be busy and family friendly on nice days. A stretch of the trail within 10 yards of the parking lot was about a half foot under water, but didn't prevent anyone from coming through. We continued up the trail towards Alaska lake.

We hiked gold creek pond this morning.  We arrived at 10:30 with plenty of parking.  The hike was easy for my 2 year old with plenty to look at and beatiful fall colors

We stopped to stretch our legs while driving over the pass and were rewarded with some great light breaking through the clouds and drizzle. Mine was the only car in the parking lot this afternoon which is not often the case for this popular spot.

Yet another reminder that there's no such thing as bad hiking weather.
