I went on an afternoon hike on Sunday and it was amazing! Not busy at all. The first river crossing looked a little scary, but wasn’t too difficult. Second was totally fine. I heard the third one was pretty high and took the climber’s route instead. It was BEAUTIFUL! Views all around, glaciers, wildflowers, countless waterfalls, and I even saw a mountain goat in the distance, close to the edge of the glacier. It was not an easy hike and I was glad to have brought my poles, but just the right amount of effort for me - and the payoff was just unreal!

The road is definitely passable, just slow going. The parking lot had plenty of space and nice restrooms. No bugs at all, which was a pleasant surprise! Overall, amazing. Highly recommend!!!

Road was surprisingly not too bad. I had no issues with my Ford Escape navigating very few potholes for a forest road. Trail was awesome, and the river crossing's made it fun and a bit challenging although unexpected. I didn't do much research before heading out, but everything you needed to know was displayed at the clearly marked trailhead. One of the best day hikes in Baker for me personally, I'll definitely do it again!

Arrived this morning around 0630. The lot was already filled with a lot of overnighters. The bathrooms were extremely clean and stocked.

The road was not the best. We had a low clearance sedan and were able to navigate the 30+ minutes of pot holes. We did scrap a bit where the new "road" section was. There are ruts in this stretch of gravel causing it to have a high center. If you feel confident navigating pot holes, I think most cars could make it.

The hike is very manageable. You are climbing the whole time, but it never feels difficult. About 1.7 miles in, we encountered a bee nest. One of our group members was stung. Bugs were pretty annoying the rest of the day. Lots of horse flies, bees and skeeters.

The second to last water crossing was the one we got the most wet in. We brought spare shoes for it but decided to just get our feet wet. We could notice a change in the water level by the time we came back later in the morning. The water was up to my thigh, but I'm short. The rocks are very slippery, so be careful! We brought our 70 lb dog and had to assist her with the first water crossing. The second time around, she knew what to do/what to expect and had no problem just walking across in the water.

The glacier view was breathtaking. We watched some climbers play around on the glacier and heard a huge rock fall.

This hike is definitely a bang for your buck. A pretty easy hike for stunning views that you don't see very often.

A new hiking partner and I picked a good day for this trip.  The marine layer kept it cool, and the smoke wasn't bad, but he lives in Glacier and said they had a thunderstorm last night and a few small fires have started from lightning strikes back up in Canyon Creek.  Hoping they get controlled quickly.

It's easy to see why this trail is popular, it's short and the grade is easy to moderate the whole way.  Only the last water crossing posed any concern to me.  The great thing is the glacial till keeps the moss off the rocks, so slipping wasn't an issue for me, and there were calf deep holes in between to step as well.  Having said that use caution and take your time.  Poles were helpful and I did put my sandals on here.  My friend went barefoot.  Showoff!

It's pretty awe inspiring at the overlook.  There was a big group down at the glacial wall practicing climbing.  We ascended the ridge for a while then dropped down for a closer view.

There was still a lot of flowers in the drainages, and we got wolf whistled by a few marmots.  Bugs were bad down low on the return.  The parking lot was pretty busy in the morning and afternoon.
