I was the first person here at 7:30 am. The water was absolutely gorgeous. Bathrooms were open and lots of space to roam around and keep your distance from others. Would highly suggest coming here early on a weekday morning if you're looking for solitude. The park quickly started to fill up around noon.

Took a trip out to Lake Wenatchee for the first time and woo-hee is this gorgeous! Easy stroll along the northern side of the lake - suitable for kids of all ages, dogs, and adults. Nothing strenuous or difficult - just all gorgeous scenery. I didn't have kids with me but the lake shore is perfect for little ones with its colorful rocks and shallow, clear shore that allows for some playtime in the edges of the water.

Bugs weren't present along the lake edge but walking through the forest to get there, I was accosted by hungry mosquitos. So much so, that if I stopped just for a few minutes, I'm sure they would have made a feast of me.

Saw a total of 4 people out there today, so my pup and I had the lake all to ourselves and we didn't have to worry about social distancing.

Beware of: road, snow conditions

Snow on roads through the state park, and parking lot, but seemed fine for most all vehicles.  We entered the park at the south entrance and parked by the beach and restrooms.  From the beach, it was clearly marked where the snowshoe loop began.  Look for blue signs and blue tags in trees.  We really liked the ever-changing scenery... lake, river, forest.  Great loop trail for snowshoes!  After hiking this loop we drove up Cedar Brae road (to the closure) and snowshoed to Hidden Lake as well.  Great day!

We started early in the morning, waking up just before 7, and drove towards Lake Wenatchee State Park.  The plan was to hike and then head into Leavenworth for lunch before coming home.  Travel was slow as many cars were taking extra caution and we followed suit, not wanting to slip.  Eventually we neared the campgrounds at the park, but we stopped at the ranger station to verify that the hike was where we thought it would be.  As mentioned in previous trip reports, they were very helpful and we were able to purchase one of the passes directly from them.  As we begun our trip we felt like we didn’t really need the snowshoes since the snow was well packed on the trail but we decided to keep them on.  We quickly worked through the loop trail, pausing at times to take pictures and venture off into the knee deep snow.  After getting back to the beginning we went over to the ridge trail and began to climb.  From the map we could tell that most of the 750 feet of elevation would be gained in the first bit of the hike before it would plateau out.  After about three quarters of a mile our dog, who was on her first hike since chemotherapy in fall of last year, began to slow down.  We decided to turn around, having to cut our trip short.  Overall, the hikes were very nice.  Snowshoes weren’t needed to go on the trails, however it was nice to be able to play in the deeper snow.

We did the north shore loop at Lake Wenatchee State Park. Even though it was a beautiful Saturday, there trail was nearly empty. We only encountered a few other people walking it, and some folks relaxing by the lakeshore. It was a beautiful walk through warm, wonderful-smelling trees, punctuated by lovely lakeshore views. It was quite windy at Lake Wenatchee; whitecaps on waves! The trail is spongy/sandy much of the way, which makes you have to use your foot muscles more - Good to know if you have any recovering foot injuries; even though this is a short loop (2.5 miles, 70 feet of elevation), the trail surface will tax your feet muscles.
