It's been hard the last month seeing all the great trip reports while being confined to short and easy paths and trails. But I've spent nine great adventures with my father and as these may be our last chance to be in the outdoors together who am I to boo-hoo? I also got the rest for my back that I might not have been so patient for had things been different. The weather has been sunny, the season full of wonderful colors, the woods filled with bird song, and a hundred different varieties of mushrooms to make you ooh and ahh. My children also got to know their grandfather a little better and vise-versa.
I've also discovered great parks like this one. It boasts five miles of trails through woods, along a bluff, and beautiful beach front on the sound. There's a huge variety of trees including Madrona, Western Red Cedar, White Oaks, Redwood, Doug Fir, and many others. There's also play areas to give kids a short break. We took the Bluff Trail and North Beach Trails and used secondary trails to create a loop.

We put in some Hike-a-thon miles at Lincoln Park this weekend! Easy stroller access paths down-to and along the beach. There are non-paved, steeper trail options if you are sans stroller. Lots of beautiful Madrona trees (I'll link to a document the City of Seattle published about the different trees at the park), picnic tables and shelters, playground with swings for kids, Colman pool and plenty of beach with mountain views. This particular evening everything was golden pink from hazy skies. This is a great in-city option for enjoying a beautiful walk with family.

Great 1.8 mile loop from the parking lot ending with a stair climb back up from the pool. Trails were dry, lots of people and pups around enjoying an early spring day in Seattle!
Not much elevation change until the stair climb back up to the parking lot. Big wide dirt trails were flat and dry. Great way to get outside and lovely spots for picnics all along the trails. Great views of puget sound and the passing ferries!
