Trip Report

Lincoln Park — Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

It's been hard the last month seeing all the great trip reports while being confined to short and easy paths and trails.  But I've  spent nine great adventures with my father and as these may be our last chance to be in the outdoors together who am I to boo-hoo?  I also got the rest for my back that I might not have been so patient for had things been different.  The weather has been sunny, the season full of wonderful colors, the woods filled with bird song, and a hundred different varieties of mushrooms to make you ooh and ahh. My children also got to know their grandfather a little better and vise-versa.

I've also discovered great parks like this one.  It boasts five miles of trails through woods, along a bluff, and beautiful beach front on the sound.  There's a huge variety of trees including Madrona, Western Red Cedar, White Oaks, Redwood, Doug Fir, and many others.  There's also play areas to give kids a short break.  We took the Bluff Trail and North Beach Trails and used secondary trails to create a loop.

You knew I had to comment after seeing the balloon pic! Damn things are everywhere! In addition to the one I picked up last hike, I spotted some in a tree also. Three of them, tied together. Couldn't get to them.
I have been taking note of your recent reports, and was going to leave a comment, but your first paragraph sums it up nicely. Sometimes (a lot of times), it's more about what we're getting, rather than what we're missing...

Ups n Downs on Lincoln Park

I did know because you get it. I couldn't find a stick long enough to fish it down.
