Trails are in great condition. At least, on some of the northern trials where we went there was hardly any mud. Make sure to have a map handy, as there are many crisscrossing trails. We saw a few other groups, but the park is so large that it did not feel crowded.

A nice lowland forest hike and good 'fall back'. As many hikers have noted in trip reports, this park could use some signage and a better map, similar to the Anacortes Forest Lands. There appear to be many more trails than are shown on the map, none signed. I know budgets are tight, but I, and I bet others would be willing to pay for a nice clear map. You really can't get lost though, the pipeline trail divides the park, and goes all the way to the river. There are lots of side trails off of this, and that's where you can wander around clueless. I've been here a few times before, earlier in the season, when the leaves are off the trees and you can see better. Salmonberries are getting ripe, had to eat a few.

Wanted something close to home today so I headed out to Lord Hill. I hiked on the Beaver Pond Trail, the Temple Pond Loop, and the Pipeline and Main Trails for roughly a six mile loop. All of the trails are in great shape at this time save for the short trail to Temple Pond from the Pipeline Trail, which is a bit overgrown. There are a few areas of mud along the Main and Pipeline Trails but these are easily avoided. It appears that the area where the Beaver Pond and Pipeline Trails intersect has been cleaned up nicely with a new bridge and rerouted trail away from the broken bridge that was there previously. I also noticed improvements on the Temple Pond Loop Trail. Thank you Lord Hill volunteers and anyone else who worked on these projects! There were lots of people out enjoying this gem of a park this afternoon. Get there early on a nice day because the parking lot fills up by mid-afternoon.

This is a nice hike, lovely woodlands in the middle of farm country, yet just a few short miles from Everett & Snohomish. The trails are in great shape thanks to volunteers, and it's a good year round conditioning hike, with over 11 miles of trails and lots of ups and downs. I walked about 10 miles with an overall elevation gain of around 1000', even though the highest point I reached was 630' at the valley overlook. Wildlife abounds here too, and on Monday's hike I saw deer, eagles, snakes, a rabbit and some coyote poop full of fur and bones. Does this count as another rabbit? While you're up this way, be sure to check out the town of Snohomish for good restaurants, locally grown produce and shops full of antiques and kitschy arts & crafts.

Tried Lord Hill from the southside this time. Less help from signs and maps down on this end. First question was whether to stay down by the river or climb up the road. The map we printed from the county website didn't show the trail along the river, so we took the road. There were many other trails not shown on the map. But it was a good day for adventuring so off we went. Didn't hurt that there were 12 vehicles parked close to the trailhead (3 of which were S&R trucks). Help was near at hand. The trails were in pretty good shape with bleeding hearts, buttercups and wood wren song to accompany us. Still some muddy spots and evidence of heavy horse usage about. Later, as we got farther north, signs and maps were more evident. Very nice hike and pretty lightly populated for such a gorgeous day.
