Trip Report

Lord Hill Regional Park — Sunday, Jun. 2, 2013

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Temple Pond, beautiful as always.
Wanted something close to home today so I headed out to Lord Hill. I hiked on the Beaver Pond Trail, the Temple Pond Loop, and the Pipeline and Main Trails for roughly a six mile loop. All of the trails are in great shape at this time save for the short trail to Temple Pond from the Pipeline Trail, which is a bit overgrown. There are a few areas of mud along the Main and Pipeline Trails but these are easily avoided. It appears that the area where the Beaver Pond and Pipeline Trails intersect has been cleaned up nicely with a new bridge and rerouted trail away from the broken bridge that was there previously. I also noticed improvements on the Temple Pond Loop Trail. Thank you Lord Hill volunteers and anyone else who worked on these projects! There were lots of people out enjoying this gem of a park this afternoon. Get there early on a nice day because the parking lot fills up by mid-afternoon.
Caught this little guy along the Temple Pond Loop.
This one was interested in my lunch.
From the trail near Beaver Pond.
