Walked up the road and walked down the trail. Both the road and the trail were in good condition. Had to park down by 101 (road closed), but plenty of parking when we got there about 10.

Started late at 1:30pm. Dozen or so cars, but everyone was heading down as I went up. This is constant climb for 2 miles but the views are so worth it. Had both north and south summit to myself except for the Camp Robbers :)

We did this hike on Saturday hoping to use our snowshoes at the top. A hiker was finishing up when we started and let us know that we wouldn't need them. The snow is completely melted and there is no need for microspikes or any snow gear on the hike. It was very cold and windy at the top though! It's a nice short hike that is fairly steep so you can get a good workout in in not much time. It was completely overcast and foggy when we did the hike so we didn't get to see any of the views.

Excellent hike! Would recommend snow shoes with good grip, or the snow spike attachments as it gets very icy and slick on some steep parts of the trail.

Beautiful day to enjoy the North and south view points of Mt Walker. The final half mile up is steep and ice covers the trail which isn't so bad going up but is tricky without Yax tracks or some kind of crampons coming back down. The road is closed at the first gate with compact ice and snow until you make the trailhead. Wear layers as the tree block the wind and the grade makes for a good workout, the view-point is windblown as you would expect.
