Quick walk around the Redmond Watershed trails early Sunday morning.  We parked at the northern lot off NE 133rd St and did a messy clockwise loop with a side excursion to the viewpoint on the east side of the eastern pond for a total of about 5.6 miles.  Parking is free and relatively plentiful at both the northern and southern lots, full restrooms open and in good condition at the south lot, no facilities at the northern lot.  All trails were in good condition with some additional good news, the hole in the wheel/power chair accessible Tree Frog Loop caused by a fallen tree has now been fixed.  One caveat - more than average horse doody this morning so watch your step.  As per normal, the various trails have different acceptable usage, some pedestrian only, some allow horses, some allow both plus bikes.  Also note - no pets allowed anywhere even on leash.

Not a bunch of wildlife out this morning - a few late season birds and a fair number of tree frogs happily croaking away but not much else.  Quite a bit of leaf drop but not much color yet - maybe need a few cool nights to light it off.  A beautiful, peaceful morning walk.

Trail was well groomed, no bugs and lots of interesting things to see. Easy walking for kids (I had ages 4-13 with me) and all managed well on the trail.

We did the Trillium loop and the Tree Frog loop and enjoyed every part!

A great walk in the woods! Mostly in shade and mostly solitary--mid-day and mid-week. Saw 6 other hikers and 3 mountain bikers, but no equestrians today. Ate a few red huckleberries and a few native wild blackberries. Yum!

Did NOT eat the Devil's Club berries, but took a picture. Appreciated the opportunity to wash my shoes. I imagine it's for horse manure, but it's a good reminder not to transport weed seeds from site to site.

Wide trails, good tread, and mostly level terrain. This would be great for a field trip with botanizers, birdwatchers, or other naturalists.

The park's trails are multi-use: popular for hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. Be prepared to share the trail and look out for horse droppings. An underground natural gas line and pipeline regional trail above it runs north to south through the middle of the park, and an overhead power line runs east to west. Several regional trails pass through the park.

he bathrooms have power and running water, with a drinking fountain outside. Both men's and women's sides of the bathroom offer push button doors powered openers to enter. Inside there are accessible stalls large enough to turn around a power wheelchair in them. Sinks, hand dryers, and baby change tables are at wheelchair accessible heights, however the soap dispensers are not.

This was my first time exploring this preserve. I started with a quick warm-up around the Treefront Loop Trail, which leads to a lovely pond.

I then followed the Trillium Trail up to the north end of the park, and connected to the Siler's Mill Trail by way of the Collin Creek Trail.

I began my journey just after 9:30 am, before the day got too warm, and the trails were not crowded at all. I spent about 2 hours making this journey, and there were many more vehicles in the lot by the time I returned to my car.

Very well-maintained trail, and would definitely revisit to explore more of the offshoot trails. I like that you can vary your level of intensity whether you're looking for a quick stroll, or prefer something slightly more intense.
