Even worth living in south Seattle I had never taken the interior trails in Seward Park, but today was a good day to take it all in as we stayed in-city. We did most of the paved loop and mixed in some more primitive trails.

Great beginning hikes/nature walks for kids. We saw a bald eagle, turtles, and geese. The Audubon society has copies of trail map and good information.

Gorgeous morning with temperature near 60 at 8 am.  Parking was scarce near tennis courts with nothing available in the lower section.  Leisurely walk took about 50 minutes on paved pathway with dirt path obtain along trail.  Many bikers, joggers, walkers of various ability easily share the trail with leashed dogs.  Preparations for various activities underway with equipment setup so it was rather noisy.  Many boats moored outside children's swimming area, a couple boats idling with their motors running.  This park is very busy with a large variety of activities.

Took my two little dogs to walk this loop on this sunny Sunday morning. Got there at about 9:30 and there were some parking spots, but it was filling up quickly. All in all it was a great flat loop. At the halfway point the paved path was a little icy for about 100 feet and we had to slow down to avoid slipping. It’s so pretty to be constantly walking along the lake. There were lots of runners, bikers, dogs, and strollers, so if you’re craving solitude I’d go super early.

Didn’t feel like a long drive in the wind and rain so I picked an urban hike for a change.

The perimeter trail is a flat 2.4 mile paved loop. You can add some beautiful miles and a little elevation by exploring the trails in the center of the park.

There are treasures to be found if you like mushrooms, ferns and woodpecker holes. Good for tree lovers and hikers of all ages.

Restrooms, honey buckets, picnic shelters and a pretty cool playground.

Gorgeous day in the PNW!  Very busy at the Japanese Garden.  Go early on a weekday for fewer people.  Busy at Seward park too. Enough turnover to make parking available.  Good lunch spot near the park, Big Chickie, 5520 Rainier Ave S.
