Beware of: trail conditions

This is our first family drizzly day hike. We had a great experience hiking through well kept trails. The river next to the trail had our daughter mesmerized. The trees and vegetation were lush and as our friend from San Diego said, "Green with envy." Some parts of the trail was slippery but easily manageable. But the falls were awesome and the bridge provides a great view! I would not use their restroom again that's for sure.

Only about ten cars at the trailhead. Cloudy day which turned to light sprinkles. Gorgeous vistas from the usual viewpoints. Really recommend this hike during the week if you can do it.

Easy way to start the hiking season for those that like holiday goodies too much like me:) Lots of kids, babies and small dogs but a great view at the end makes the crowded trail worth the trip. Go early or you will be hiking as far to the trailhead from your off-the shoulder parking spot as the trail is long.

Conditions could not of been better. The weather was great and the trail was in perfect shape. This is a great afternoon hike to do, pretty quick trip if you just go to the falls and back but if you do the whole thing it makes for the perfect distance. The falls view point is a little confusing though, there is no sign just a drop down staircase that takes you down to the falls. Make sure to go down the steps, otherwise you miss a really great view. The trail had a pretty good number of other people out on it as well.

With my mother (a fan of waterfalls) in town visiting, we thought she would enjoy a stroll up to Twin Falls. We were treated to lots of Spring flowers, including Pioneer Violet, Skunk Cabbage, Oregon Grape, Trillium, Springbeauty, Corydalis, Palmate Butterbur, Bleeding Heart, Salmonberry, Flowering Current, and most exciting of all, Wild Ginger (a life flower for us....about 1000 feet before the fenced-off Old Growth Fir, on the uphill side of the trail...there were 5-6 flowers in one small area). A lovely place, and the falls were beautiful!
