Arrived at the parking lot at 6 am. First car there. There are no facilities so plan accordingly. The road up is rough. There are a lot of large potholes. But the worst is several rough sections where the road is rutted with large rough rocks. Very rough on tyres, and could be damaging to lower clearance car. I didn't see any low clearance cars at the TH on my return.
The mosquitoes were out at the TH, they were very persistent, lost them when moving, but on the lower trail they are out, be aware. On the upper trail the bugs were not a problem.
The trail itself is really straightforward, tight switchbacks to gain the ridge, then follow the ridge to the summit. Most of the snow is gone, one lingering patch on a west slope near the summit that is easy to get past.
The summit itself is great, fun rocky ridge with gorgeous views.
Good little hike up at the pass, good workout with awesome payoff.
Saw about 10 people heading up when I was heading back down. About 8 cars at the TH when I returned at 8:30

Wow. I don’t think I’ve ever had a shorter hike for a bigger pay-off. Got there at 8:30. Hiked w my 11 year old. Took 60 mins to get up and 35 mins to get down. Definitely going into the rotation. The drive is great in a higher clearance vehicle. Large potholes. Parking lot was us and two other cars at 8:30. When we got back there were 8 cars - mostly Rav-4 or higher. There was one Toyota sedan. I have no idea how it got up there, but good on them! As we were driving down there was a sedan trying to come up. They’d gotten out of their car and were looking around. I stopped to ask if they needed help. They said no they were just looking for a piece of their car that they were dragging.

Road in was easy to follow, but there were some sections with larger potholes. Would recommend high clearance or confident driving. Arrived at 10 am and did not see anyone else on the trail until our way back down.
The trailhead was unmarked but easy to find, and a sign a little ways up the trail confirms that you are headed to Mount Catherine. The trail itself was pleasant, decently steep, but no sections that were really challenging until the last hundred feet or so. The snow is almost entirely melted, with only a couple sections left that are all relatively easy to cross. The views from the top were gorgeous, clearing up to the southeast but staying pretty cloudy in the direction of Snoqualmie Pass. Mount Rainier almost poked through, but still looked great. I'm guessing that the people who came up later got a better view. There were lots of great spots at the top to sit and eat, and the weather cleared up enough to enjoy the view. On the way down, the sun cleared up and we saw a good amount of people going up.
Total hike was 3.2 miles and 1250 feet of elevation.
