The first two big waterfalls can be seen with just a few fallen trees to navigate but after that wooooo there are TREES down. Some big ol’ trees. Many many - if you are up for some crawling and wet butt you can keep going for a while. We made it about 4 miles in (Garmin said 4.3 but I think it was more like 4) . Lots of big pot holes on the road up. Trail was wide for first mile-ish and then got narrow. Great river views, some big ol’ trees. A few mushrooms. There was a lil bit of snow but not on the trail.

A great forest walk to multiple beautiful, roaring waterfalls. Beware that there are many downed trees along the trail, some of which require good mobility to pass. We stopped half a mile after the meditation falls where the trail disappeared completely below many downed trees. After hopping on some of them, I could imagine the path, but we didn't go further because we didn't expect things to be much better beyond that mini forest collapse.

We arrived at the trailhead at 8:50am as the first two cars. There were 4 more as we got back a bit after 1pm. The first road to the trailhead has quite a few potholes but it's good otherwise.

The trail was beautiful and in a reasonably good state given the recent wind and flooding damage. There were a few traces of snow along the trail but nothing that would stay more than a few days. It was certainly wet but I'd not expected the lovely moss to be visible everywhere along the trail otherwise.

a tree is completely blocking the road about a mile from the trailhead. we parked and walked the rest of the way to the trailhead. it's a lovely and wet hike we have done before, but the recent storms impacted the trail and there were several places where trees and debris blocked the trail and a recent mudslide, which required some careful navigation. we ended up turning around after 3.5 miles on the trail.

Nice trail in good condition and the falls are raging right now after the rain, so it’s a good time to go.

The forest road is full of potholes, especially closer to the trailhead, but I had no problems in an SUV and I think a sedan would be okay too.

The trail is in really good shape up to Feature Show Falls (around a mile in, and the most scenic waterfall). Between Feature Show Falls & Meditation Falls, it’s rockier/rootier and there is more debris on the trail and around 10 blowdowns, a couple of which required a little climbing / getting my pants dirty. None are too difficult to get around if you’re able-bodied but it might be hard if you’re carrying a kid or something. I turned around after Meditation Falls so can’t comment on what the trail is like further on.

It's been a while since I've been up this trail.  In that time the road has been improved and has deteriorated again.  Not quite as bad as it use to be but close.  I wouldn't want to bring a sedan up here.  Just 3 miles of gnarly potholes, all full of water now to add to their car swallowing mystery.

The trail sets off on level tread before ticking up.  It was really cold in this section warming up the higher we went up the river gorge. The first section to the main falls is in decent shape just a couple of blow downs to cross, a little awkward as you have to step over right on the edge of the trail, but nothing crazy.    Everything is wet and there are minor creeks/wet areas to cross, no mud pits. After the always dramatic main falls the trail feels a lot wilder.  More rocky sections and the blow downs keep coming, more complex now - squeeze under, climb over and/or through.  The trail is high above the river, cut into a steep hillside, so all the down trees are at angles.  They slowed our pace and around the two mile mark we hit our turn around time, short of the third falls which had been our goal.

On the return we took the steep boot path down to the base of the main falls.  It has a couple of bigger drops but hands, feet, and poles in combo for the win.  It's well worth it.  The falls are flowing well and it's just such a wildly immersive spot.  This time of year the light here is low which makes everything seem a little twilighty.

Back at our car the small lot now had around a dozen cars.  Recommend parking head out as it gets tight when people fill in the sides.  Didn't check on the outhouse but it's part way down the road in.
