Great day for a hike. Wear long pants as like others have noted there is a lot of underbrush some very scratchy! Trial can be narrow and imbalanced at time so watch your footing.

Steep acsent, carry lots of water. Bathroom at the top. Excellent views. Fun hike but a workout for sure!

Enjoy!

If you’re looking for some solitude and a trail all to yourself, the trip up to Kloshe Nanitch might just be for you. We were the only car in the parking lot and the trail was fairly grown over for a good portion of it, so you definitely get the impression it sees a limited number of boots. We were actually surprised to see two groups on the way back down. As for the trail, I would recommend wearing long pants and hiking on a dry day, because your legs would be soaked (or all scratched up) moving through the underbrush. There were also about a dozen or so blow-downs to cross, but nothing difficult to cross.
On the plus side, we had the entire lookout all to ourselves on a beautiful day to take in views of the Olympics (although it’s sad seeing all the clearcuts leading up toward the Park) and the Sol Duc River. It’s easy to see why they made this a fire lookout. There was also a ton of wildflowers on display: bunchberry, trillium, orange paintbrush, vanilla leaf and lupine. And even though it’s a little overgrown in sections, it was a fun, steep hike to get the heart going.

I hiked this trail with my dog on Saturday, March 30th.  Previous reports showed snow at the top, I found this not to be the case.  The trail is very overgrown and could use some TLC... I actually briefly lost the trail at about 2.6 miles due to an overgrown switchback.  A few downed trees to hurtle, but nothing too awful.  Unfamiliar with the hike, I continued on from the lookout up to North Point (via the service road) hoping there might be a glimpse of the views on the north side... no luck.  I added about a mile to my hike just to look at a couple buildings and a tower, so don't waste your time.

I hope this was helpful!

I'm going to come back to this hike and finish it in 2 weeks or so to get all the way to Kloshe Nanitch.

Hiked up from the Littleton Trailhead to Jim's Junction and encountered little patches of snow along the way. Once on the ridgeline heading to Kloshe Nanitch intermittent snow was encountered. I traveled less than a mile along the ridge postholing and found a good spot for lunch and returned to the trailhead. Its hikable, but wait until April 1 to find both the trail to the Kloshe and the rest of the Mount Muller loop free of snow.

One car was in the Littleton Trailhead lot with hikers in front of me that headed towards Muller and returned before me to the trailhead.

Beware of: snow, trail conditions

Attempted to hike up to Kloshe Nanitch the other day. The weather was fantastic and I had the trail to myself the entire afternoon. The road to the trailhead is clear with the exception of the turnaround area at the end of the road which was icy, but it's easy to park before the ice starts. The trail starts off snow free but turns to compact snow and ice around 2500'. Nothing some microspikes can't handle. I got within a mile or so of the lookout platform and decided to turn around. I was starting to posthole a bit too much in some fresh-ish snow and was worried about the amount of daylight I had left. There were a few downed trees to step over along the trail but nothing unmanageable. I'm sure the views from up top would have been great but it was a nice day on the trail nonetheless.
