Very enjoyable hike. Popular today, but not overrun. The forest in the middle section before all the switchbacks is really beautiful. The sheer rock wall is very impressive. A bit of mud but nothing horrible. The last few switchbacks before the ridge require some large steps up which give your legs a nice workout.
The first ledge you get to is nice but the second one gives you a much better view. The summit is rocky and open. The ledges below the summit on the far side give wide open views towards Cedar Butte and Rattlesnake Ledge. There was an unfortunate amount of food waste near the summit; pistachio shells, orange and banana peels. Even though these are organic, it doesn't really break down quickly. Please pack out your trash.
About 2h15m up, 1h15m down.
