Easy to find hike. Elevation gain a little hard but totally doable for everyone. So worth it. The larches were beautiful at lake Clara.

Beautiful fall hike to Clara and Marion Lakes where the lake levels were very low. Larches were just turning yellow. Weather was bright and sunny. Being a mid-week hike only saw 3 other hiking parties. Hiked or scrambled beyond Marion Lake to find larches growing in steep rocking talus slopes. Definitely worth the trip!

Beautiful hike for a fall day! This was a delightful hike for not too much effort. To reach Clara lake there is a bit of an uphill push, but it doesn't last long. We saw several people with young children, and many with dogs. The water level in both lakes is quite low and the water is very cold, so I would not recommend swimming. We tried wading in but scampered out quickly.

Heard many pikas in the talus slopes surrounding Clara Lake.

It was a bit difficult to find Marion Lake and the water level is very low there. We wandered the social trails around the two lakes for a while before heading back to the trailhead.

Gorgeous fall foliage throughout!

Hiked with my 9 year old daughter and my friend and her three girls. Ages from 1-5 years old. It was a great hike!! Had to encourage them a little a long the way but they did it! Such a beautiful hike thru the mountains. Even though it was a hot day, there’s plenty of shade along the trail. We started at 9:15am.
Spent time at the lake having snacks, tinkering along the edge of the water. The kids loved that part!! We would definitely do this hike again :)

Brutal mosquitos.  Expected mosquitos at standing water but we had them start to finish. Other hikers turned around. These must have been imported from Alaska, their state bird.

Other than that a good hike. Elevation gain is right away and seemed steeper than the stated 900’ of gain.

Our “out of shape” time was 2 hours and 28 minutes round trip. No stops other than brief water breaks. Stopping allowed the enemy (mosquitos) to gain a tactical advantage so we had to keep moving.

Marion Lake was kind of a bust (more like a swamp). Instead spend your time circling Clara rather than just passing by.
