Clara and Marion Lakes — Saturday, Sep. 25, 2021

Central Washington > Wenatchee

Beautiful hike for a fall day! This was a delightful hike for not too much effort. To reach Clara lake there is a bit of an uphill push, but it doesn't last long. We saw several people with young children, and many with dogs. The water level in both lakes is quite low and the water is very cold, so I would not recommend swimming. We tried wading in but scampered out quickly.

Heard many pikas in the talus slopes surrounding Clara Lake.

It was a bit difficult to find Marion Lake and the water level is very low there. We wandered the social trails around the two lakes for a while before heading back to the trailhead.

Gorgeous fall foliage throughout!

I was wondering if the larch trees were turning yellow? I did not see any evidence in your photos.

The larches hadn't turned yet! Maybe they've started to turn now, though?
