A week full of rain and I expected the trail to be muddy, boy was I surprised to find it... 😬
But first - we arrived at the parking lot around 6:30 AM and there were around 8 cars already there. More than I was expecting on an early Thursday morning. But the good news was the crew was there cleaning out the honey buckets. So while I didn't get a chance to #alwaysreviewthetoilet - I can only imagine they're spa-like. ✨
Started out on the trail and it was not muddy! Really good condition. There was only one spot where water was on the rocks. Maybe like a 10 foot stretch. Otherwise about a mile into the hike there is some water running over the trail. You can easily step over it.
There are some muddy spots here and there, but easily avoided.
Other than that - same old Poo Poo. Nice maintained trail. It's popular, probably 20 cars in the lot when we finished. But all good, everybody friendly.

Arrived at the trailhead around noon on Friday. Plenty of cars but no trouble finding a parking spot. The day was cloudy and grey, but the weather cleared up somewhat as we ascended. The woods were lush and green. Muddy trail; poles helped on the way down. Essentially no snow. Summit views were very limited.

Poo Poo Point was its normal delightful workout today, with plenty of parking—hint:weekday—and friendly hikers and lots of people lugging their parasails (I think). I hadn’t been up the trail in a while due to medical issues and surgeries, and was pleased to top out in 1:01. There was rapidly melting snow on the top third, and therefore much mud. I didn’t need spikes, but was glad to have two poles for descending in slush and mud. The views from the south takeoff point and the top were great, as always when not weathered out. Highly recommended for weekdays. Highly not recommended for weekends, unless you’re and early riser.
