Dad is 99% recovered from that nasty respiratory thing that he picked up on the cruise ship, but we still wanted something easy for our Friday hike. This trail was perfect. The Skokomish is VERY low right now. I hate to say it, but we really do need a little rain! Everything is looking DRY up there. Trail is in great shape, but there are some blowdowns past the junction to Flapjack Lakes. We hiked to the Madeleine Creek bridge and had lunch there. About 9-10 miles round-trip. Very few bugs, which was a refreshing change of pace after the nightmare that my husband and I endured at Sunrise on Monday.

Great short hike for all ages. A few trees down across the trail, but other than that it is in good condition. The suspension bridge is a nice feature structure.

This hike is absolutely gorgeous! I would classify it as more of a walk than a hike. Today there were many people on the trail but it was still amazing. We didn't have any issues with the trail and it is in very good condition. It would be a great hike with kids. The trail is part of Staircase campground and there were many people staying there. There are working restrooms near the trailhead. You can't take dogs. Be prepared to stop and take a lot of pictures! Overall it was a great experience.

Great day for a hike on this trail along some spectacular rapids. The trail is easy going and the loop is nice however a little short for our taste. At the bridge junction we stayed left and headed to 4 stream where we ate lunch then headed back. A few trees were down over the trail to 4 Stream but nothing to complain about. When we arrived back at the bridge junction we followed the bridge and completed the loop. Very warm today and nothing but sun!

This was a very easy-going hike along the river. If you love rivers, you will like this hike. Since this hike isn't very long, I would suggest pairing it with another hike within the vicinity.
