Beware of: road, snow conditions

Hit the trail at 7:30 which was later than anticipated. First and second creek crossings were easy and the third was a little bit more challenging. Wasn't too difficult though so don't get scared, I just took my socks and shoes off and eventually made my way across. Snow starts at headlee pass where ice axes and crampons are recommended (although I saw a couple groups of people not wearing crampons and were completely fine). After Headlee pass, there is a short traverse which is snow free. Snow starts again after the traverse and its snow the rest of the way to the top. I trudged my way up to the summit which was covered in clouds. I managed to snap a photo when there was a small clearing. But of course when I started heading down, the summit was clearing out. Always happens to me. Overall it was a great climb and took me about 7 hours to complete. The trail condition is pretty good and there are lots of snow tracks to follow so getting lost is pretty difficult.

I also made a video but can't link it to the trip report so I'll just paste it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSySUyAhAsQ

Was super foggy on the way up but it got sunny right before I got to the peak at like noon. That was the best view (going up to the top) Then it got foggy again at the top which was annoying since I didn’t have a chance to wait (my friend below me had to get to work . the snow part wasn’t bad since there were already pretty good foot steps in the snow to step in. There were ppl without axes and they were low key chillin. I used my friend’s axe but it wasn’t really that helpful until the very top where it’s like all snow. Feet were wet the whole time since I went in sneakers and we crossed a river . It’s really fun to slide down from the top though, no cliffs or rocks are nearby so it’s hella chill. Watch out for rocks sliding, even the big ones were loose. Also watch out for decaying trees in the area. Really sad stuff

Third water crossing was a bit sketch, were able to keep our feet dry, poles were nice to have. Snow starts at the gulley headed up to Headlee Pass then clear after the pass until just before the lake outlet, then snow to the summit. Attempted to climb Ragged Edge, the traverse is snow covered. Doable if you are comfortable with steep snow travel…recommend pickets to protect the traverse as a fall could be fatal. We turned around half way through the traverse since we didn’t have pickets, there were minimal trees we could sling. Rock route looked clear though. Bring bug spray!

Lost a Grivel ice axe with a yellow strap and red cover. If anyone finds it please let me know.

I started at 6am and took my sweet time making my way to the summit. The snowfields were good for kicksteps around 9:00am. By 11am, I was postholing up to my waist coming down the snowfields. Lots of small wet avalanches on surrounding peaks. Someone above me set off a small avalanche from glissading. Nothing too concerning, but they didn't announce it and I heard it coming from behind.

On the descent of Headlee the snow was incredibly soft and more melted out than when I started. I postholed quite a bit down to the boulders underneath. Snow isn't too deep so it didn't pose any issues--more of a nuisance.

Lots of water sources along the way! With warmer weather it's best to start as early as possible.
