Spectacular hike for families during COVID. We arrived trailhead around 2:30p on a Sunday. Parking lot was big so handful of spots left. Beautiful trailhead right next to river. Next time, we would bring picnic to have on picnic tables near river after hike. Hiking trail was in great condition and elevation was perfect to tire out 9yo and 7 yo kids. Forest is beautiful along trail, and view was worth it. Saw plenty of people of trail, but never felt crowded. Looking forward to exploring this area further!

The road to the Garfield Ledges Trailhead from the Middle Fork Trailhead is pot-hole city. I somehow made it through in my mini by puttering along in 1st and lining my tires up with the edges of pot holes. I would not recommend it tho. Instead, park in the Middle Fork lot down the road and walk to this trailhead.
This trail is in great condition, except for a single muddy patch marked by pink tape. I forgot about it on my jog down and slid through it without falling. 🤭
I recommend pairing this hike with the nearby Stegosaurus Butte trail or any of the Middle Fork trails.
I attempted to submit a trip report using the app on the day we returned from Garfield Ledges but I must've not done so. The trail was short and in good condition.
I drove my electric vehicle and parked at the Middle Forks Trailhead parking lot to avoid the potholes around the bridge leading to the Garfield Ledges parking lot. We were planning to walk up the road, but at the NE (?) corner of the Middle Forks lot - the corner closest to the road and Garfield Ledges trailhead, there is a path through the forest and Middle Forks campground labeled "Middle Forks Connector Trail". We didn't see anybody on it, ate many salmonberries, and it offers a whole bunch of log benches and a riverside location with stump seats. Very charming and I highly recommend everybody park at Middle Forks and use this connector trail to get to the bridge just before the Garfield Ledges parking lot.

Arrived at trailhead at ~1:15PM on Sunday, June 21. There were just a few parking spots free. Road is completely paved *except* for a few sections that are rough and have rather large potholes. Carefully maneuverable and doable with a sedan, but high clearance recommended. Trailhead toilets are CLOSED.
Trail is well-built and in good condition overall, with just a couple unavoidable mud spots, so be prepared to get your shoes muddy. Grade is moderate so poles aren't necessary but might be useful.
Quite jaunt to the top, we were there in ~35mins. View of the valley is great, but there are only spots for about 10 people at the top, so be considerate if there are people waiting behind you.
