Lincoln park loop on a beautiful sunny May morning. Arrived before 8 am on a Thursday morning, parking lot mostly empty. Started hike by the posted park map and bird houses. Hiked the bluff trail counter clockwise down the stairs to the beach trail. Wildflowers blooming, purple rhododendrons, thimble berry, star flowers and others. Visited the Thomas Dambo troll, Bruun Idun with it’s amazing driftwood flute. Continued on the beach trail towards the ferry, turning up the hill by the rock bathrooms, back to the bluff trail and parking lot, just under 2 miles for the loop.  The counter clockwise loop seems easier returning up the hill. If you want a great stair workout do the loop clockwise. Or do both, that’s what I did today.

A lovely evening walk around Lincoln Park!

Got to the main parking area around 5. It was quite full, but I didn't have an issue finding a spot.

We walked around aimlessly, all the way down to the water to see the troll. Plenty of wildflowers to see throughout our hike.

Returned to the parking lot around 7. It had emptied out a decent amount by then.

This was a work party to repair the trail at Solstice Park, across the street from Lincoln Park. There are some stairs at the top of the park in serious disrepair and the ELP crew and a few office staff worked together to get them fixed up and secure for future visitors.

Our crew installed a couple stairs and prepped the rest of the box steps for the Saturday crew. We had a nice visit from some other office staff during lunch, and enjoyed the sun and a breeze. Afterwards, we headed down to the beach to see the troll, part of Thomas Danbo's Way of the Bird King series. There's a great little loop with some good elevation gain that starts right by Solstice Park and comes out at the center of the park. The trails aren't particularly well marked, but using Gaia helps you stay on track.

What a nice park. I realized that I haven't been here in over 25 years.  Made it a 2 troll day for our 29th wedding anniversary.  The park is crisscrossed with a labyrinth of trails. We did a 2 mile loop.  Could easily do 4 miles. Dinner at Salty's with a great view of Seattle.  Urban perfection.

Renton Women’s’ Hiking Group took advantage of unseasonably mild weather to walk around Lincoln Park. Most walkways were fine but a few muddy paths on the hillside had slippery areas. Our route went along the water, uphill to the playground area under construction, and out of the park to climb the 300+ stairs leading up to California Avenue. We walked north through the neighborhood then back downhill to cross through the park and return to the beachside walk. The troll is in the back of the saltwater pool building.
