Wanted a close, easy hike with waterfowl, fungi, and Fall foliage (as well as we get). Parking is ample, but got the last spot on driveway as didn't get there untill a little before noon, and it was a beautiful fall day. Some trails were small creeks from water runoff. Only waterfowl was a couple large flokes of geese flying over. Several types of fungi. Trees were turning. Lots of people and dogs, a few horses, several mountain bikes. Some trails not clearly marked, but all in all a pleasant day.

I only had time for a morning hike and with the skies bringing forth that lovely PNW wet sunshine, I headed over the short drive to Lord Hill for some wandering. I took the main trail and then veered off a cutoff towards pipeline but then went a little offtrail on a newly signed bike trail that had me finding my way over some rocks and through brush. At the end of pipeline I did some calf burning on the slope down from the viewpoint and then back up. The leaves were gorgeous and after making my way back along the main to goldeneye and then back out to the trailhead 2 hours later. This park never seems to diappoint. LInk below to more pictures.

A pleasant fall hike. Miles of trails, including many new ones which are not on the downloadable map. We hiked 8 miles and covered less that half of them. Saw a couple of horse riders, couple of other hikers. Down by the river fish were jumping and bald eagles were hanging out.

I was starting to feel some mushroom envy looking at recent trail reports and decided to go on a treasure hunt of my own. The trail is in great shape. It gets pretty muddy on the Red Barn trail, maybe from horses, but I was able to hop around the squishy slick spots. I spent about 2 hours walking in the woods. Saw a gazillion mushrooms, all shapes and sizes. I heard lots of frogs and birds along the way. Not many people until I got back to the main line close to the parking lot.
