Lovely hike up the trail followed by a jog down the road. Trail is in great condition! The road to the top is closed (gated) beyond the trailhead, and bathrooms at the top are also locked.
Maybe a mile up the road from the trailhead, it is covered with fallen rocks where it curves around a small cliff. Passing this on foot is not a problem. And 1/10 mile further up the road, there is a truck that has run off the road and rolled down the hill before stopping against a tree. Hope all were okay!

Gorgeous warm, dry autumn afternoon to experience this well-graded short workout trail. Saw only a handful of people and few cars. Low clouds enshrouded both North and South summits with very limited views.
The gray jays (Camp Robbers) at South summit were very aggressive and worked in teams to dive-bomb us from both sides to partially succeed in separating us from our sandwiches.
This trail is truly a local gem and very accessible for most folks in East Jefferson Country and beyond.
Both summits could use a little TLC with a broken bench at South and a few log barrier fence poles falling down.
Arrived to the trailhead around 9:30am on a partly cloudy Saturday. Only 3 other cars at the trailhead, with space for a couple more. This hike is basically a bunch of steep inclined switchbacks for 2 miles up with little variation between them.
The first viewpoint at the top is nice, but I highly recommend following the road for another half mile to the south viewpoint. It's relatively flat so doesn't add much elevation gain to your trip, just a bit of distance. I spent a bit more time enjoying the south viewpoint. The hike back down is straightforward, but would recommend some poles for stability and to make it easier on your knees.
My Apple Watch clocked 5.21 miles, 2,089ft of elevation gain, and total time of 2 hours, 5 minutes.

Trail was in great condition. It was definitely more challenging than I personally anticipated, but still enjoyable. I was by myself in the ascent, but passed by several people on the way down. The views were great. Made it to the top in about 1.5 hours taking a few opportunities to rest along the way. If you're looking for a nice little workout and some great views and don't have all day to get it in, then this is what you're looking for!

Always stop here on my to Port Angeles/Olympic. Such a great leg-stretcher! The trail is short, sweet, and steep! As stated above, the upper gate is closed due a landslide, but the lower gate is open. USFS says that will close sometime in early November. Trail is in excellent condition. Only a couple down trees that are very easy to step across. Definitely go to both viewpoints! My photo is from the south one. The north one is totally different and quite lovely at the moment because of all the fall foliage. Had both viewpoints to myself for over an hour this morning. Didn't start seeing people until 10 am as I began my descent.
