FYI: Don’t make the same mistake we did. After the parking lot, when you reach the trailhead, be sure to follow the signs and arrows don’t continue onto the forest service road if you're trying to reach the falls or other key destinations.
We arrived around 6:25 a.m., and there were already about five cars in the lot. The restroom was open, but the smell was pretty strong, even for an outhouse.
The trail itself was pleasant and not overgrown. We hiked to Big Creek Falls first, then stopped by Otter Falls on the way back. Highly recommend Otter Falls if you're doing this hike. Water flow was low this time of year, but the scenery was still beautiful.
The trail is gradual and manageable, we did it with a 10-year-old.

Did this in 3.5 hours, which is good time (for me).
Found: hiking poles. Left by the Marten Creek bridge. Didn't take them with because I thought someone just forgot them. I did put them a little out of the way. If they're yours, leave your email here and describe them, then I'll tell you where I left them. Hopefully they are still there.

The falls are at a trickle this time of year. The granite slab and the lake below are still a lovely site. There were about 10 climbers going up to the top of the falls with a safety rope. For some reason they didn't seem to be making much forward progress.

Haven't been on this trail in several years. Was pleasantly surprised by the new offshoot to Otter Falls from the Taylor River Trail! Falls were nearly dry, as were the usual creek crossings. Overall a nice stroll through the woods on a humid day. Rocky but fairly flat makes it a good hike for anyone that can handle the mileage!
A group of us hiked to Otter Falls and Big Creek Falls last week. It was a perfect place to hike on a very hot day! What made it even more perfect was seeing (and using) the beautiful new trail up to Lipsey Lake and the stairs/steps down to the lake at Otter Falls! Wow! Truly a model for excellence in trail building! I assume we have WTA work crews to thank? If so, Thank You!
