We hiked in late afternoon on sunday and the parking lot was a bit busy but not full. The hike itself was not crowded and while a bit wet in pretty great condition and offered some really nice views of the water and all the mountains that surround the area.
We started at the trailhead but there is also another parking lot near the start of the loop if you just wanted to do the loop. I would recommend starting at the trail head because the addition 0.2 miles of hike has some really nice views as well.

We couldn't do something epic, but we had a great time walking down to the river to do some SCIENCE! This was the third and final 2020 "grab sample" of water for the Adventure Scientists' Wild and Scenic Rivers project.
The trail is in great shape, but parking is limited. We got the last spot at about 11:30. The good news is the trail is short enough that there's often someone leaving.
The water is higher than in summer when you there was a sizeable beach. You can still spread out along the shore a little, but you have to hop rocks to stay out of the really, really cold water.
If you go in the morning when the sun's out, the moss glows and the steam makes it magical.
We didn't do the whole loop, but have in the past. The long side is better than the short, but even just a little walk was awesome.
Great trail for kids. It is super short and pretty flat. Restroom was pretty gross this morning. One was locked and the other appeared to have not been cleaned in days. There is a sign warning that they dont maintain it daily but the garbage was full. Pack it out people! We started around 10:30 and trail was not too busy. There were definitely more people as we left. Only one log across the trail but easy for the kids to navigate.
A beautiful, short walk around an oxbow of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River. The trail is well-built, about 3 feet wide, gravel. Except for the stairs on the bridge over the outlet of the oxbow, the trail is almost accessible with plenty of assistance.
Alas, birds were scarce except for a pair of hooded mergansers.
Most remarkable was 100% mask compliance! We were pleasantly surprised after having been on trails with a lousy ~60% mask wearing.

Hiked here on Thanksgiving Day. It was wet and a bit rainy, but this was a perfect short trail to stretch our legs before the big meal! We parked in the larger lot and took the little extension to where the loop starts. We went clockwise, so it goes downhill a little bit at first. No major obstacles, I think only one small log across the trail. There is a short extension where you can walk out and see the river. We went slow and took lots of time for pictures and to see the lake. We really enjoyed it here.
