A great day hike very close to the city. The parking lot and trails are clean and surprisingly empty even on labor day. This seems like another hidden gem like St Edwards Park. The trails are gentle and mostly flat. You can hike up to 6 miles if you take all the side routes and loop around. Watch out for gravel bikers on portions of the trail as they can go fast when the trail is empty. No pets allowed.

29aug2022 MON morning, while on my way to Kirkland WA, to have my vehicle service/repair, i dropped by Redmond Watershed Preserve for a ramble.
~07:20 i was the second to arrive at the parking. ~07:30 cool mid_50s_F went Out. Did a Loop: Trillium Trail, Miler's Siler's Mill Trail, and Trout Trail; total distance ~5.7 mi, total time 1:59, EG 404 ft. The Trails were signed, but its "Numbering & Codes" could be confusing for newbies (including me) to the Preserve .. perhaps, better to have bring along and use a Hiking App?
Well-shaded and cool in the woods. and only had the sun at the 1 or 2 small area along the Pipeline Regional Trail. The Trails were in good condition and seemed well-maintained. The Trout Trail is nicer .. its soft tread was kinder for my knees 😅 The restrooms at the Parking were opened and clean - thank y'all - the Preserve Maintenance folks. When i got back to the parking at ~09:30, it was mid_70s_F, .. and should climb to 80s+ later this afternoon .. 😅
Happy Trails Everyone 😊

After a summer of driving 1 to 3 hours to hike the mountains, and a week of much driving, I wanted a hike close to home that still made me feel like I was in the wild. Redmond Watershed Preserve delivered! What a gem - miles of trails, total tranquility, creeks, ponds, and a trail in excellent shape. I marveled at the quiet (something you don't get on many of the trails near I-90 with the constant hum of cars), the wildlife (birds, squirrels, deer, and a few piles of very purple bear scat), and the depth with which I felt I was in the forest. While there are signs at every junction, I still managed to go down the wrong one, so I do recommend double checking your route if you don't have time to get a little lost. The junction in the photo of the map is particularly confusing. Paired with a loop through nearby neighborhoods that included Collin Creek Trail, I managed to hike 7 miles today! I feel so incredibly lucky to have forested trails just a ten minute drive from my home. Note that dogs are not allowed in Redmond Watershed Preserve.

Really nice trails; wide, pretty flat, quiet and very close to town. We did the suggested Trillium and Siler's Mill trails big loop. Not very crowded on a Friday; only a handful of hikers and 4 total bikes. We did not see any horses but much evidence on the Trillium Trail. It appears the horses are well fed before riding. We ate lunch at the south parking lot picnic table and then did the 0.6 mi Trout Loop trail. About 6 mi total for the (short) day. Blackberries were ripe and tasty.

We arrived at the south parking lot at 9 and had no trouble finding parking in this large, paved lot. There was a large hiking group and a cross country running team that was starting just as we were. We didn't cross paths with the hiking group, but the runners passed us periodically during our first hour of the hike.
We hiked a large loop around the reserve. We started on Trillium and took it to Collin's Creek. From there, we hiked to Silas Mill and took that trail to Pipeline and then hooked up with Powerline, which took us back to the parking lot. The trails are in great shape. We even saw 5 horses on the trails today. We hike this trail system regularly and today was the first time we saw horses. Always a pleasure to stop and admire them.
Hiking the loop trails we did, we logged 6 miles and about 325' in elevation gain. This is a wonderful, peaceful trail system that is never crowded. We'll be back!
