Beautiful day for a hike! This is a great trail if you want incredible views in a short distance, and the climb up makes for a nice workout. We arrived just before 9 a.m. and there was plenty of parking. The trail is not marked until you get a couple of feet up but is right where GPS says it is (We drove past it at first). Parking is just in pullouts along the road. Lots of bugs especially at the top so be sure to bring your bug spray! There was the smallest patch of snow left, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was gone by the afternoon.

Great hike. We got to the trail head by 10 and were the first party. We had the summit all to ourselves and didn’t see another party until we were on our way down. This is a great hike if you are limited on time but also don’t like sharing your outdoor experience with a crowd.

Same information as reviewer below. Snow begins just at the end of the 14th (last) switchback, then intermittent to the top. Fortunately, we packed our yaktrax and wore them to the top, which is where you can look up and see the rocky ridge, but completely snow blocked. Even our St Bernard mountain dog refused to try that piece. Nice day, great peek-a-boo views. More pix and details at - www.deetezellimountainstories.wordpress.com

Generally snow-free trail, until the upper third. Easy to navigate most of the snow-fields, until the very final ascent. The final bit is totally snow-covered, so much so that we had to turn around before summiting. If you had some tools for self-arrest, you might try traversing it, but it was piled high enough that a mis-step would have you falling a long way down the mountain.
Beautiful day otherwise, and plenty of good views at the various viewpoints along the trail.
The forest road up to the trailhead was clear of snow.
