Trip Report

Nason Ridge Snowshoe — Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020

Central Cascades > Leavenworth Area

Nobody's gone past the first lookout over the lake about a half mile in. The snow is very deep beyond that so if someone else would like to stomp a trail go for it!

The lookout over the lake that everyone stops at is right next to a steep hillside with few trees and the highest avalanche danger of the whole trail. Everyone's so busy with the view they forgot to look behind them to assess the risk.

There are more snowshoe trails around Kahler Glen though that eventually connect back to the state park, so you can just go to the lookout and then go back to the water tower and split off on those trails if you want a longer trip.
