Pouring rain.... but that's why we were there. Used this as a training hike for a multi-day thru-hike that's happening later in the season. It was also a chance to test out some rain gear, put in some elevation and mileage, and not sit around letting the cold/wet defeat our spirits.
Getting to the trailhead was a piece of cake. Only a couple cars in the lot and we didn't really pass anyone along the way. Weather went from occasional cloud breaks to sleet/hail and back to mostly rain throughout the trip.
Having done this in the summer, still a highly recommended trail but this particular instance was cold and wet. Good training hike if you're working in those conditions.
