Beautiful views! A few things of note: stream crossings, large log to climb over around mile 1 or 2, and the trail is covered in snow at about mile 5.
There were 2 stream crossings around miles 2.2 and 3.2 that requires a little bit of balancing on rocks to get across. It could be difficult for people who aren’t feeling confident in their balance. You could also just walk right through the streams if you don’t mind wet feet!
Snow: The trail was mostly snow free (some isolated patches) until mile 5. At that point the trail became mostly snow covered. I used microspikes and poles, I saw a couple groups go without microspikes, I saw one person with an ice axe out, and I saw a couple people turn around. So, it really depends on your comfort level. There are a couple of short sections were a slip in the snow could result in a slide down a long, steep slope.
One last note in general: A man along the trail asked me if I was hiking alone, or if I was meeting friends up ahead. He seemed nice, however that question is super creepy to me as a solo hiker who is a woman. Best case, he’s just curious. Medium case, he’s worried about me because he doesn’t think I should be out there alone due to perceived lack of skill or safety concerns (nevermind the fact that he was solo too, and I know what I’m doing). Worst case, he is going to kidnap me (I say this semi-jokingly...). So yeah, please don’t be creepy, even if it’s unintentional. Thanks.

Thanks for the comment about creepiness! I'm female, too, and yeah. Not cool.
