Stunning trip to Fremont today.
Arrived at the parking lot at about 7.30 to maybe 10 cars. It had been cloudy all along the drive but as we hit Sunrise we just climbed above the cloud to beautiful sunny skies over the cloud inversion.
Patchy snow to the ridge line then a more significant snow field. In the early AM it was frozen so poles helped, but if you are proper footwear (boots) and used to snow travel it is no problem. If you are not in proper footwear....best of luck.
Pushed out along to Frozen lake, couple of bigger snow fields but easy to cross (see above). Past frozen lake it is clear and the wild flowers are starting to appear
Didn't see anyone on the trail until reaching the lookout at about 9isb after leisurely walk and lots of pictures. There were 4 people at the look out when I arrived. 2 rangers arrived about 20 mins later.
In general the earlier morning folks were wearing masks but as it got later in the day and I got back to near sunrise it was a lot less people which was disappointing.
Conditions were stunning early on, clear skies until the cloud rolled in. Back to parking lot by about 10.30. My husband skied some routes off the North facing bowls. Great day!

Thanks for a fairly detailed report about trail/snow conditions.
I've noticed from reports and my recent hikes, the early hikers seem to want to avoid crowds and also tend to be the ones wearing masks whereas later hikers seem to wear them less. Probably too much of a generalization but ....
Again, thanks for the report. Too bad it is a relatively longish drive and I have to tackle it and similar drives alone if I want to go again this year.

I think you are spot on, we've noticed the same thing. Early hikers are wearing the masks/social distancing on the trails and the late arriving crowd seems to be 50% or so less concerned. Thanks for the great snow report, going to give it a shot tomorrow.
