This was a close-in easy trail for our family. Not too many people at all which was nice but we found out why: since it is a shared equestrian trail, there is a ton of horse poop. And slugs eating the poop. My daughter found this cool...so I guess that’s a win. Also ran into an issue where we were going to make it a loop and come off Holder Knob on the southeast side via Whiskey Still but when we got to the Boot trail the fork down to Carey Creek was closed. Would have helped to have a sign at trailhead or some of the markers midway indicating that part of the trails were closed. We doubled back along Whiskey Still and ended up taking Holder Ridge Trail back to the car. Overall a decent hike and the picnic table by the horse rest area on the knob was a nice place to take a break. There is usually a good view of Tahoma, it was cloudy that day.
