Forest Road #12 is closed a mile from the intersection with #13. No access. Another great family hike now lost.

That is very sad. Have hiked it twice, gorgeous hike, but never made the summit. Is there anyone we can petition to get it repaired/reopened. The trail head was only redone a few years back with a spiffy new outhouse, I hope it's not gone for good.

I don't know why it is closed, I assume it is a washout. We just saw the sign on our way to Park Butte. I hiked it a few years ago after they had finished the new TH. Sad, we used to hike into Lake Ann when our kids were little and we camped at Baker Lake.

It was a long drive for a short hike but I'm glad I did it now. Little money for fixing roads. Blue Lake was a nice side trip too.

Oh man, I love that hike. The little tarns were so beautiful. I feel like it was a mini Park Butte without the crowds. I think I did hear that the road was washed out at some point over the winter. We were last there around Thanksgiving and it was so peaceful. I was hoping to make it back for some wildflowers. Also it looked like there were some potentially nice dispersed campsites along the road that I was wanting to check out. I'd volunteer to help fix the road if it means we can access that hike again! I don't know how, but I'm good at following directions.

A nice hike...until you hit the day that 200 geocachers are up there looking for the same cache. That's what happened to us last time I hiked it! Definitely wrong day! #12 continues around until you get to Pioneer Camp and the TH for Elbow Lake/Bell Pass, also nice hikes. I did a WTA work party up there a couple of years.

Just a small correction: Dock Butte/Lake Ann are not accessed by the Mt. Baker Hwy (there is a "Lake Ann" trail there too, but it is different). The hike you are reporting is off the _Baker Lake_ road...an entirely different location.
