Ruby Beach — Monday, Aug. 10, 2020

Olympic Peninsula > Pacific Coast
The sea fog was putting on an impressive show

Beautiful day at Ruby Beach! We arrived in the morning (probably 10:30 or 11:00) and there was plenty of parking, but by the time we left around noon, it was packed. So get there early, even on a weekday (or just avoid the general mid-afternoon rush).

Beach "trail" conditions were normal, no major obstacles, and there was an easy path through the driftwood to actually get on the beach.

Also, just to note, a few people asked me about where to see tide pools on the beach: if you're looking for tide pools on Ruby Beach I've found the best spot is at the base of Abbey Island... obviously when the tide is out. Just please don't bother the marine creatures (this includes pulling star fish off of rocks and such). Just a quick PSA since a few different people on the beach asked. :)
