One of my favorite Hikes this year up to the Lake Ingalls. Lots of wide open views and alpine meadows to look at on the way up. Once in the basin we set up camp and then scrambled to the lake. Near the lake we saw momma goat and two kids. The scramble is easy and cairns decent for navigation although lost at times. Felt safe for anyone in search of more views and cool alpine lake. Stayed the night for the stars but overcast skies and 37 degree overnight temps made for a little more tent time. Great hike out in the morning. Some early day hikers on trail by 8am but not too heavy. Lot is full but people fairly spread out. Luckily didn't pass anyone on the section of more narrow open talus about 2/3 the way up. Would be a great day hike too.
