A really beautiful hike, definitely recommend.
The weather was ideal, starting around 50F at the trailhead and topping out around mid-60Fs with blue skies throughout the morning.
We had the trail to ourselves on the ascent as we left early but it become noticeably busier as we descended.
Definitely take the extra time to visit the upper basin as the views are stunning and the color of the water in the lakes is worth the visit alone.
By the numbers, about 17 miles to the upper basin (we hiked around a bit there, took about 4h30).
