Trip Report

Rachel Lake — Monday, Oct. 12, 2020

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Beautiful fall foliage

Who hiked the trail:
Two girls in their mid-20s.

Parking:
- arrived at 10am; 2 other cars in the parking lot
- left around 1pm: 2 other cars in the parking lot

Visitors:
Only saw 7 other people and one dog the entire day. Most people put on masks when passing or made sure to stay at least 6ft away.

Trail condition:
We sadly didn't make it to the lake because of the creek crossings (~6 miles round trip). Sections of the trail were 12 — 16 inches deep with water and many of the creek crossings I'd recommend trekking poles to safely cross. It was a lovely day, but definitely not for someone looking for an easy hike on which to stay dry.

Other notes:
The road has some unavoidable pothole sections, but it's fairly well maintained. The fall colors were beautiful and definitely worth the hike even though we didn't make it to the lake.

Enjoy the pictures from my day!

Comments

Thanks for the water warning -- it led me to use the waterproof boots, without which I'd have been stopped.

Of course! Did you end up making it all the way to the lake?
