Hiked snow lake to Gem lake today. Got to parking lot at 9:00am and was back down at close to 3 with almost an hour at Gem and tons of pics.
Beautiful hike and lots of water on the trail. Snow set in headed up to Gem but easily walked out without spikes. Please note early morning all the roots and wood crossings were sheer ice. Used a trekking pole for the way down. Got slippery when it was sunny and snow turned to slush. There are a lot of spur trails so please have a map or GPS with you
Found a group not on trail that was confused. Gem follows its namesake.
