The road leading up to Peoh Point is definitely for high clearance vehicles due to potholes. We saw plenty of fall colors. Gorgeous views all the way up. It had rained so the air in the shade was very cool and damp, but once we reached the point and sat in the sun, it was lovely. Not too crowded on the drive up, and only two women and a dog the top. We saw about 5 motorcycles, but it wasn't for very long. We loved the quiet and the long distance views! From the point, we could hear the train below and even faint traffic from I90.
The road to hike up was easy to find, once we realized the 5-way intersection was indeed 5-way. When it looks like a 4-way, look to the far right. What seemed to be a parking area was another road. We parked a tiny ways up the road to the left, marked Peoh Point, in a pullout. Walked the rest of the way up, cell phone tower road all the way, giving us about 3.5 miles by my phone.
From the point, we could see Cle Elum, Roslyn, Ronald, and Cle Elum Lake. Take binoculars! The edges are sheer rock drop-offs, so do watch pets and young children. The point is the cell phone tower location, so don't be surprised. Plenty of room to wander around and look in 180 degree directions.
Now is a good time to go, before snow. Plenty of yellow left in the trees, but they are falling pretty fast.
