Norway Pass — Monday, Oct. 26, 2020

South Cascades > Mount St. Helens
Trail head

This was a lovely mountain drive and beautiful autumn hike. After winding our way up NFSR 26 we arrived at the trail head around 11 am on a Monday with about 4 cars in the lot. We saw 6 people, 2 dogs and one bike total. This is such an interesting, awe-inspiring trail through the blast zone with views of Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams and Mount Rainier. Also views of Meta Lake and Spirit Lake. We were just a little late for the peak of fall colors, but it was still lovely. Lunch at the pass was perfect. All in all, it's an easy hike, not too long and incline not too great(daughter forget her hiking boots and did fine in Vans, hiking boots are recommended). We were glad we had our trekking poles as parts of the trail were snowy/icy/slick.
