Took advantage of the good weather to enjoy the turning leaves and wild mushrooms along with the great views on this hike. Hiked up to Fragrance Lake toured the loop around the lake then headed out the South Lost Lake trail to Burnout, taking in both viewpoints, one overlooking the San Juan’s the other overlooking Lake Samish to Mt. Baker. Then headed back the same way. Take the So. Lost Lake trail to the T. Then turn right going past the Leaving Larrabee State Park sign at next T turn right until dead ends at the overlook (San Juan’s). Head back past trail about a half mile staying to the left on all turns and end up at the overlook towards Mt. Baker. These are very dramatic views and perfect lunching spots. The trails once you get past Fragrance Lake are not well used or crowded but very well and recently maintained. My phone recorded 9.3 miles, 2,070 El. again.
