Dog Mountain — Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020

Southwest Washington > Columbia River Gorge - WA
Summit

Trail in great shape, took the “difficult” right fork. Some sections were surprisingly steep, at the final 1 mile sign I was thankful for my pole!

Took us about 3 hours round trip. Began at 8:45 am and plenty of parking available. Finished by noon and still spots available.

Great fall colors. Most people were good about social distancing, mask wearing was about 60%. Many off leash dogs, all thankfully had decent recall.

1 tree across the trail, easy to step over. Frost was beautiful on the trees. Bring extra layers for the exposed sections and top.

Just wondering if you found any ticks on yourself or if anyone you met mentioned them?
Thinking about heading over but wife concerned about ticks on dog.
Thanks

No ticks found on us or the dogs, I imagine it would be a problem here in the spring and summer. Our dogs were on leash and stayed on trail.

Thanks much for your rapid response, much appreciated. Glad to hear none were seen, figuring it hadn't been cold enough yet to have them hibernate or whatever they do in the winter.
