Trip Report

Blanca Lake — Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West

Me and a group of friends went for evergreen mountain lookout up in the Beckler River area, there's an avalanche completely blocking the road heading up. So we went for blanca which is in the same area. Getting through Jack's pass is a mess and recommended for high clearance 4wd minimum. The fresh snow from past weeks has been torn up by a number of off road vehicles and then refrozen, creating huge deep channels of ice walls scattered through the large area. Until we get a lot of fresh snow travel through the area will be tough. We made it to the trailhead in 2 tacomas, a 4runner, and a jeep, all lifted, offroad tires, and lockers (not needed). Probably a bit overkill but you get the idea.

For the hike, We cut out the only boot path through 2 feet of wet snow all the way up to the ridge top before turning around due to timing and team fitness.

If you want an adventure, the rest is all yours 😆 otherwise I'd avoid this one for a while.

Did you find this trip report helpful?
