Ethan, Brenda, Jonah, & I walked up the Oak Creek Road on this partly sunny, cold day. We walked as far as Pine Tree Canyon and found a snow-free place under a Ponderosa Pine with a view down the canyon for lunch. We stayed for about 45 min before heading back. We didn't see any wildlife except for a few birds, but we did see lots of animal tracks in the snow, including some large ones that were either wolf or cougar (my photos were inconclusive) as well as deer, elk, rabbit, and probably coyote. We saw one other hiker as we were starting out and a party of 3 with their dogs as we were eating lunch. There was an inch or so of snow on the ground, but we did fine without traction devices.
