I arrived at the Bagley Lakes parking lot at 10:30 am and there was plenty of open parking. I hit the trail at 10:40 am and was at the top of Artist Point 12:00 noon. I was surprised at how quickly I made it up there.
There were lots of people on the trail, as it was a beautiful blue-bird day on the mountain. Everyone was super polite and followed trail etiquette.
On the way up I stayed closer to Bagley Lakes, instead of the more popular trail along the edge of the ski area. This route required a steep climb once I got to the Ranger Station cabins. But I made it without a problem. This gave me a quieter and more solitary trek for the first hour.
The views were spectacular at the top. Now, after reading other's reports, I wish I would have hiked out to Hontoon Point. Oh well...next time.
The weather was so nice, I was even able to take out the watercolors and do a quick sketch of Mt. Shuksan once I got back to the parking lot. Overall a great day!!

Were snowshoes necessary or spikes adequate? Thanks

I also did this hike today, till Huntoon point
2 of us used snowshoes, 1 used spikes
Since the trail is hard packed the entire way, I think spikes are actually better for current conditions

I agree with "Vitamin N" below. I kind of wish I had spikes, as they looked easier to use on this well packed trail. But another person on the trail was carrying their snowshoes, even while using spikes, just to be prepared.
