Tieton River Nature Trail — Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021

Brenda, Jonah, Ethan, & I took a walk on the Tieton River Nature Trail on this cool, overcast day.  We started at the Elk Feeding Station and walked up to the big meadow with the Ponderosa Pine and giant Garry Oak.  We had lunch under the pine and after 45 min or so returned the way we had come.  There was 4 or 5 inches of snow on the ground, but there had been enough people snowshoeing, skiing, & walking in the last few days that we had no problem booting it without traction devices.  The sun tried to come out as we were eating lunch, but on the way back we had a little rain.  We didn't see any wildlife and only a few hikers near the Feeding Station on the way in, but lots of hikers near the feeding station on the way out.  Other than that we had the place to ourselves.

Love your photos, as always! The colorful clothes your hiking partners are wearing really pop in this landscape. :)
